A TRUE FAIRY-TALE...
| BOLTON
FIGHTING FOR LIFE The car was spinning around and Bolton flew out of a back-window and landed 20 meters away, said witness of the crasch. Me my self passed out but woke up by Bolton screaming and trying to get into the car thrue the window to get to me. I got the door open and took a few steps and fell to the ground. Bolton took place on my lap. The Ambulance-crew put back- and neck-rests on me and took me to the ambulance. I did not understand that I was badley hurt and refused to leave the place without knowing who Bolton was doing. With two of the men in the ambulance-crew following right behind I got out in the field again, where Bolton was lying. One policeman had tryed to make Bolton stand, but he could not move. They wanted to put Bolton to sleep right away. But I got someone to drive Bolton to the animalhospital Ultuna when I went to the Akademiska hospital with bad skull-injuries, broken forehead and bleadings in my head. Bolton
had internal bleadings, his spleen was broken so the first time was critical for
him. After a day the vet said that he should live, but he did not want to; Bolton
had given up! They did not get any contact with him, he was apathetic. If I could
make him a vistit, it would be the different of life and death to him. It make my heart bleed when I think of how Bolton so badly hurt, draged him self the 20 meters to the car to get inside to save me! A normal dog would lay still or ran of to the woods.
Bolton stayed some weeks at the animalhospital. He had very strong pain but got better and better. We never tought he would be fully recoverd. But in May 2002 he was well enough to win CC and BOS at a show 9 years old, followed by several BIS and BIS-placings in veteranclass finales. | |
